"Show me every brand running subscriptions cancellation flows."
Asked by Calvin Beck, brand owner. Works in Claude Code and Codex.
The short version. The library holds 33 brands with a documented cancellation path: 15 from the Funnel of the Week (FOTW) archive and 18 from the Consumer App Index (CAI) web2app captures. 17 of the 33 ask a reason before letting you go. Only 8 put a discount in front of you before the cancel completes. 4 more save the discount for after you cancel. 10 make no save attempt at all inside the flow. The most common ladder is reason survey → pause or skip → discount → "are you sure" with a loss list → cancelled, and the two brands that run the full ladder end to end are Nuora (ecom, Skio) and Blossom Up (web2app). Every row below has a screenshot.
Two corpora were swept end to end. On the FOTW side: every funnel with a cancellation_flow page type, every Circle course lesson filed under "Cancellation Flow" or "Subscription Management", the subscription-churn pattern library, and the email PDFs. On the CAI side: all 29 apps whose capture manifest has a churn section. Each captured flow was read screen by screen (171 CAI screens, 68 FOTW screens and pages, 3 email PDFs) and coded on the same rubric: number of steps, whether a reason survey exists, the save offers in the order they appear, and whether the cancel completes in the flow or bounces to email, support, or the app store.
Sorted by how hard the brand works to keep you: full ladders first, then partial saves, then flows with no save attempt, then bounced or broken flows. "Steps" counts screens from the subscription page to the cancelled confirmation as captured. Prices are as shown on the day of capture.
| Brand | Source | Business | Steps | Survey? | Save offers, in order | Notable trick | Completes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Nuora | Scraped | Ecom supplement (vaginal probiotic), Skio portal | 10 | Yes, 5 reasons + "You've saved $8.70 by subscribing" badge | Skip 1w / 1m / 2m Reminder: 20% off every order +30% off next 3 orders 40% off next 3 orders, "final offer" | Escalating discount ladder. Skip screen carries a "Clinical Study Results Timeline" (73% notice reduced bloating in 7 days) to reframe "not working yet". | In flow |
| Blossom Up | CAI-APP | Web2app personal-growth quizzes, $29.95 / 4 wks | 12 | Yes, 6 reasons | Finish your pending quizzes 30-day challenge in progress Extend trial +7 days free Pause 1 or 2 months 50% off for 3 months ($14.98) "Consider what you'll miss" list | Most save attempts in the library: six screens before the confirm. Progress-loss framing ("30 days left") before any price move. | In flow |
| Luvly | CAI-APP | Web2app face-yoga, $5.99 trial then $59.99 / mo | 20 | Yes, 8 reasons + a second "specify the technical issue" list | Pause 1 month 35% off 6-month plan ($100 → $65) | "Pause My Subscription" is the big button; cancel is a small "Turn off auto-renewal" link. Opens with "Has Luvly helped you reach your goal?" and echoes your quiz goal ("get rid of wrinkles") in the pause screen. | In flow |
| IM8 | Scraped | Ecom greens supplement, $89 / 4 wks, Skio portal | 8 | Yes, 5 reasons + "You've saved $25" badge | Skip 7 / 14 / 28 days Pause 1 / 2 / 4 weeks Extra 15% off next order Change next order date | Pre-empts objections before the survey: "Too much product? pause. Tight on budget? stay for 20% off. Not feeling it? results were studied over 12 weeks." Pause screen cites "730,000 orders placed by subscribers who chose to stay". | In flow |
| Headway | CAI-APP | Web2app book summaries, web profile | 10 | Yes, 7 reasons, then 4 sub-reasons, then open text | "Personal discount: only $14.99/year" "Thank you for this journey" with Keep plan as primary | Makes you write feedback before showing the price. The final screen still puts "Keep plan" as the blue primary button under "We hope we'll meet again". | In flow |
| Moonbrew | Course Article Email-PDF | Ecom sleep supplement, subscription-first | 4 + emails | Yes, 7 reasons; branches by answer | Flavor swap with free matcha sample Free gift popup after cancel Pause 1 month (separate button) Email: 30% off a new subscription, code BEST30 | The only FOTW flow with documented post-cancel emails: "Gone so soon?" (30% off) then a duo cross-sell a week later, both with "Didn't want to cancel? email us to delay, change frequency, switch flavors". | In flow |
| MyIQ | CAI-APP | Web2app IQ test, $29.99 / mo | 3 | No | 77% off: $6.99/mo instead of $29.99, from next billing date | Shortest flow with a discount. After cancelling, offers a $100 Amazon gift card draw for feedback. Matches CAI's stored config exactly. | In flow |
| Copymind | CAI-APP | Web2app, $39.99 / week plan | 6 | Yes, 8 reasons | 60% off a 4-week plan ($15.99 vs $39.99) | The save is a plan change, not a discount on the same plan: it moves you from weekly to a cheaper 4-week term. | In flow |
| Club EarlyBird | Course | Ecom morning-drink subscription, $54 / 6 wks | 4 | Yes, 4 reasons + open text after the offer | 20% off your next subscription order | Tone as the retention device: Michael Scott "no" meme, "We're getting more sad by the minute", "This is the worst day ever", "We'll never forget you". | In flow |
| Neurotoned | Scraped | Info product, $90 / year membership | 4 | Yes, 6 reasons + required open text | Upsell as the save: "Upgrade Now - Unlock Live Support + All Neuro Healing Journeys, $90/yr" | The only flow whose save offer costs more, not less. Ends in "Pending Cancellation" with the paid-through date, so access continues. | In flow |
| David Protein | Scraped | Ecom protein bars, Skio portal | 7 | Yes, 6 reasons; branches by answer | "Need help with your subscription?" Contact Us before Continue to Cancel Taste reason → "Swap Products" | Survey framed as "We're committed to continuous improvement. Why are you updating your subscription?" The taste branch offers a swap, not a discount. | In flow |
| Wisey / Wisey ADHD | CAI-APP | Web2app productivity, 7-day trial then $48.50 / mo (2 funnels, same flow) | 11 | Yes, 5 reasons | "Your included benefits" list with Pause as primary "No worries, let's pause your subscription" "Keep my benefits / Cancel anyway" | Pause is offered twice, before and after the survey. No price move at any point. | In flow |
| Earth Breeze | Course | Ecom laundry sheets, $144 / 12 months | 5 | Yes, 7 reasons + open text | "If you have more than you need, we can skip your upcoming order" | No discount, consistent with the brand's "zero discount" positioning in the FOTW breakdown. Cancelled subs move to an Inactive tab with a one-click Reactivate. | In flow |
| ColonBroom | Course | Ecom fibre supplement, $131.97 / 3 months | 3 | No | "Why cancel when you can pause?" with 3 benefits Cancellation fee: "$33.00 left to pay" | Cancel is free only after the second charge. Cancel early and you repay the subscription discount ("Pay and cancel subscription"). Pause is the way out. | In flow, with fee |
| Simple Brain Fix (Primal Labs) | Course | Info product + supplement autoship, $29.99 / mo membership | 5 | No | Pause is the only button | The member portal shows "Pause My Subscription" and no cancel control at all. Cancelling means calling support. | Pause in portal; cancel via support |
| WalkFit | CAI-APP | Web2app walking plan, €10.49 trial then €38.95 / mo | 13 | Yes, 8 reasons | After cancel: "Give us another try with an 80% discount" (€38.95 → €7.79) | Nothing before the cancel button. The discount appears on the confirmation and stays as a "Show return offer" button on the account page. | In flow; save after |
| MadMuscles (female funnel) | CAI-APP | Web2app fitness plan | 10 | No | Email after cancel: "full access for just $0.99/month, Renew my plan" | The in-app path is "Delete account" (30-day deactivation warning), then "within 24 hours you will get an email confirmation". The win-back lives entirely in that email. | In app; confirmation by email |
| Nebula | CAI-APP | Web2app astrology | 9 | No | Separate "secret discount" web page: 7-day trial for $1 then $20.99/mo, shown as −70% | In-app "How to Cancel" is a 6-step illustrated walkthrough of the iOS Settings screens. Cancellation itself happens at Apple. | Bounced to App Store |
| Spiriohub | CAI-APP | Web2app spirituality courses, €44.99 intro then €89.99 | 10 | Yes, 8 reasons + optional open text | Loss list: video courses, daily practices, bite-sized lessons, growing library | "Your subscription will be canceled within 30 minutes." No offer, only what you lose. | In flow |
| Grüns | Scraped | Ecom greens gummies, $167.98 / 12 wks, Skio portal | 8 (6 captured) | Yes, 7 reasons + 6 sub-reasons + "You've saved $71.99" badge | Loss framing: "You'll lose access to your benefits" | Two-level survey. No discount appears in the captured screens; steps 3 and 6 of the FOTW dump are missing, so an offer there cannot be ruled out. | In flow |
| Babbel | CAI-APP | Language app, web account | 14 | No | "Can we help? Contact us / No thanks, cancel now" | Help-centre article walks you to the web account. After cancelling, the account page pushes "Reactivate" and the 12-month plan at €6.99/mo (save 50%). | In flow |
| Hint | CAI-APP | Web2app astrology / palmistry | 4 | No | Loss framing only: "everything you've unlocked will disappear" | Help centre → "Cancellation Portal" (email + code) → one confirm. Cancelled screen keeps access to the paid-through date. | In flow (portal) |
| BetterMe | CAI-APP | Web2app fitness, $6.93 trial then $38.95 / 4 wks | 8 | Yes, 5 reasons | None | Survey, then "Cancelling your plan". CAI's own config note: "no retention offers observed in Dec 2025 funnel analysis". | In flow |
| Finelo | CAI-APP | Web2app finance education, $39.99 / 28 days | 6 | Yes, 9 reasons + "what didn't you like about our content" sub-list | None before cancel After: "Start investing with our broker partners" | Uses the exit to cross-sell an affiliate broker. No attempt to keep the subscription. | In flow |
| Truvani | Email-PDF | Ecom protein powder subscription | Email, 2 days | Human asks | Support offers pause or skip: "maintain your subscription at the current lower price, guaranteed not to increase" | No self-serve flow. Cancelled after a second request; the confirmation email cross-sells new flavours and a "Save on Truvani" promo, then asks for a CSAT rating. | By email |
| Liven | Course | Web2app productivity | Email, same day | Human asks | "Is there anything we can do to encourage you to give us another try?" | Support asks why but processes the cancellation in the same reply. Policy page: app-store subs cancel at Apple or Google, web subs by emailing support. | By email |
| Ancestral Supplements | Scraped | Ecom organ supplements, $34.20 / month, Skio portal | 3 | No | Portal pre-empts: Skip, Swap, Edit frequency, "Exclusive subscriber offer: add any product, 30% off" | Cancel is "Remove item" with a Cancel/Confirm modal. All the retention work is on the portal before you click, none after. | In flow |
| FitMe | CAI-APP | Web2app fitness | 5 | No | None | "Manage subscription" opens an FAQ: "How can I cancel my subscription? (iOS)" with Apple Settings steps and a "Did you find the answer?" prompt. | Bounced to App Store |
| Astroline | CAI-APP | Web2app astrology | 4 | No | None | The only control is "Delete Data & Account". The alert reads "Your subscription will be canceled in this case." | Account deletion |
| Primal Viking | Scraped | Ecom men's supplements, Shopify account | 6 | No | None | The "Cancellations" modal fails: "Couldn't load Cancellations. Try again." The FOTW host ended up deleting the payment method instead. | Broken |
| Simple Life | Course | Web2app fasting, 24-week commitment plan | Policy only | n/a | None documented | No screens captured on either side. The FOTW lesson documents the policy: 7 days to cancel the commitment plan but the first month ($12) is still charged, against a "30-day money-back guarantee" on the sales page. The host calls it "dark arts... legal but questionably ethical". | Email within 7 days |
Excluded on purpose: BBCo's "Cancel order" modal (an order cancel, not a subscription flow). CAI apps whose manifest lists a churn section with zero usable captures are listed in section 8.
Four of these run on Skio's cancel flow, so the skeleton is identical (survey with a "you've saved $X" badge, then an "Are you sure?" with offers, then "Cancel now"). What differs is what each brand loaded into the offer slots.

Email-PDF Truvani cancellation thread (PDF). Day 0, 3:12 PM, request to cancel a monthly protein subscription. 3:13 PM, one minute later, support replies:
"Before I proceed with the cancellation, I'd like to offer you some alternatives that might suit your needs. You have the option to pause or skip your next order instead. This way, you can maintain your subscription at the current lower price, which is guaranteed not to increase as long as your subscription remains active."
Day 0, 3:48 PM, second request. Day 2, 9:49 PM, confirmed cancelled, with a list of seven new flavours, "Want a discount? Text TRUVANI5", and a P.S. inviting a reply with "Save On Truvani" for a promotion. Two hours later a one-question CSAT email.
Email-PDF Moonbrew post-cancellation sequence (PDF 1, PDF 2). June 1, subject "Gone so soon? 🥲": "Special one-time offer: 30% OFF with code BEST30. Gone so soon? Get 30% Off A New Subscription?" followed by a product grid and a blue block, "Didn't want to cancel? We can help manage your subscription! Email us to: delay next delivery, change frequency, change quantity, switch flavors, get usage suggestions." June 8, subject "Get 30% Off All Our Superfoods!": the NoonBrew + MoonBrew duo cross-sell, MoonBoost, a new peach flavour, and the same "Didn't want to cancel?" block.
All screens below are CAI-APP captures: iPhone viewport, captured by an automated walkthrough between November 2025 and February 2026. They are the app's account or web-profile screens, not FOTW pages.

Counts are out of the 33 brands in the master table. A brand is counted once per device even if it uses it twice.
Pause or skip: Nuora, IM8, Blossom Up, Luvly, Wisey, Moonbrew, ColonBroom, Simple Brain Fix, Earth Breeze, Truvani (by email), David Protein and Ancestral (portal-level skip). Discount before cancel: Nuora, IM8, Blossom Up, Luvly, MyIQ, Copymind, Headway, Club EarlyBird. Discount after: WalkFit, MadMuscles, Moonbrew, Nebula. Loss list: Blossom Up, Spiriohub, Hint, Grüns, Wisey, Moonbrew (cancelled page). Swap or gift: David Protein, Moonbrew, Ancestral. Human contact: David Protein, Babbel, Truvani, Liven, Simple Brain Fix.
Where a brand uses more than one save device, the order is nearly always the same, and it is the same across ecom and apps:
Ten of 33 make no save attempt before the cancel completes. They split into three kinds:
BetterMe (CAI config note: "no retention offers observed in Dec 2025"), Finelo (asks two levels of why, then cross-sells a broker), Grüns as captured (two-level survey, loss line, cancel). Grüns' missing steps 3 and 6 are the one place an offer could hide.
Hint ("everything you've unlocked will disappear"), Astroline (delete account), Ancestral Supplements ("Remove item"). Ancestral is the exception that proves the rule: its portal page is dense with skip, swap and a 30% add-on offer, so it does its retention before you reach for cancel.
FitMe and Nebula send you to the iOS Settings app. Primal Viking's Shopify cancellations modal errors out. Simple Life has no captured screens, only a policy that makes the first month non-refundable even inside the 7-day window.
Why: it is the only flow in the library that demonstrably runs a price ladder, and it wraps every step in the same two devices, the "You've saved $8.70" badge and the product's clinical timeline. The skip screen reframes "not working" as "not yet". The final step says "final offer you can apply instantly" so the customer knows the ladder has ended. It is stock Skio, so an ecom brand on Shopify can rebuild it without custom code.
Why: six save screens and the discount is the fifth. Before it, the customer is shown pending quizzes, a 30-day challenge with "30 days left", a free 7-day trial extension, then a 1 or 2 month pause. The 50% offer only lands on people who have already said no to free things. For any product where the customer has accumulated state (a plan, a streak, results), this is the sequence to copy. See the challenge screen and the pause screen.
Why: it is the flow the FOTW host documented most completely, from survey to pause popup to the two post-cancel emails, and it is the evidence base for six patterns in the library (automated-cancel-flow, easy-pause, flavor-swap, new-flavor-gift, reactivation-emails, higher-strength-winback). The mechanics: the seven-option survey routes taste complaints to a flavor swap with a free sample, and the "You've got a free gift" popup fires even when the cancel goes through, so the last touch is a gift, not a loss. A week later the 30% "Gone so soon?" email arrives with a plain list of things support can change instead. IM8's "Don't Cancel Yet" screen is the tighter single-screen version of the same idea if you want fewer steps.
funnels/moonbrew/course) discuss the flow qualitatively but give no acceptance percentages.
